Musings on the Virgo Full Moon
Dearest,
How are you fairing under the light of this full moon? Have all the twists and turns you’ve been experiencing left you feeling stronger? Depleted? A dance between the two depending on the day?
I was wondering, do you know what Virgo, with her symbol of the Virgin, actually means? Beyond the hard worker, the detail-focused lover of precision (and the mental spirals that sometimes come along for the ride). And let’s be clear, it’s definitely not virginity in the sexual sense, ha! But we’ll delve into that another time ;)
The true meaning of Virgo is one who is self-possessed. One who honours her inner integrity above all.
Who owns her own sovereignty.
That is where her purity lies. Her strength lies. Governed only by the heavens above and her soul below.
Have you been tied to another’s beliefs, thoughts or expectations? Given up your own sovereignty for externally constructed ideas of where you ‘should’ be, what you ‘should’ have? Creations based on anything but the purity of Virgo’s guiding heart. Where have you lost your own sovereignty by letting your mind convince you it is the supreme ruler of you and your life? That you are merely at its whim, under its reigning control.
I know that to be human is to forget this pureness that lies within, to forget that there is something far deeper that guides you than merely your mind, with its thoughts and fears and expectations. It takes work, it takes dedication, it takes commitment to yourself (and your heart) to remember that those thoughts are fleeting, that they are not who you truly are.
No. Let my full light remind you that the greatest act of service you can give yourself is remembering your sovereignty over your thoughts. Softly knowing they won’t disappear (they’re not supposed to!). They change and shape-shift to be your biggest ally one moment, the next appearing as the monster lurking behind the closet door. It is recognizing this fleetingness that helps them lose their grip over you.
True freedom lies in remembering that you are not possessed by them, at the mercy of what they decide to cloud your pure essence with. True freedom is remembering that you cannot be possessed by any person, action, thought that you do not wish to be. Virgo in her boundless beauty reminds us of this, reminds you that she is a part of you.
You are doing it, sweet one. Reclaiming your sovereignty over your own life - your own doubts, your own dreams, your own desires, your own future.
Your own present.
It’s not just possible, it has already begun to unfold. Whether you can or not, I see it so purely.
Stay the course. Ride the tidal waves of your own inner waters, knowing that when they calm, a new landscape, a new sovereign life is growing nearer in the horizon.
