Musings on the Aries New Moon

You feel the fire inside of you, don't you?
The fire that is the source of all creation.
The source of destruction.

The fire that when wielded can bring dreams into matter. Hopes into reality.
The fire that when left untamed disintegrates all into ash.
The earth it dances upon without restraint.
The inner peace it dwindles to a mere whisper.

It can threaten to consume you.
It can agitate every fibre of your being as if each cell might combust from pressure.
It can scorch your soul, your hopes and your dreams like the tender winter skin feeling the sun for the first time.

It can blind you with its flames in your eyes.
It can burn you through the words you speak.
It can turn desire into rage, passion into fury.

We walk the razor's edge with fire.
We traverse its power on a sliver of a tightrope.
Too much to the left and we extinguish our desire for change. For creation.
Too much to the right and we whirl out of control, spewing fire without restraint.
Without reason.

But to walk the razor's edge, to feel that fire, that heat and wield it wisely;
To know that all life, all creation, depends on this fire, is where we regain our power.
Our selves.
That no matter how threatening it appears, how intoxicating it feels, it is our fuel.

It is what makes the buried seed spring its head above ground.
It is what makes the revolutionaries act; the poets write.
It is what makes the lovers burst with pleasure; the wolves hunt with fierce intent.

It is our power.
Our source of all that's to come.
Of all we've left behind.
Of what needed to shatter before it could be reborn.
Of our dreams igniting before our eyes.

So do not fear this fire.
Do not let it consume you beyond recognition.

Wield it like the swordsman.
Wield it like the magician.
Wield it like the creatrix.
Wield it like you have the power to change the world.

Because you do.
