Welcome to August Astrological Forecast! A glimpse into the collective energies at play for the month and themes to ponder. An invitation to get curious and explore how these planetary movements and energies show up for you - never a “telling” of what you should or shouldn’t be feeling/experiencing! And this month with Uranus reigning supreme, we get the ‘gift’ (ha!) of never quite knowing how this energy wants to show itself. So read on for what’s showing up in us, around us this month.
August 1/2
Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunct
Let’s start the month off with a BANG! Although these energies have been building over the last month, today marks simultaneously a culmination and an activation moment.
Uranus, the planet of disrupting what needs disrupting, meets the North Node, our soul's journey in this life, for the first time in 15 years, ushering in a new cycle of stepping into our unique path in this life. With Mars also right there in the mix, there is an energy of restlessness, of wanting things to move, to change, now - not such an easy feat when this is happening in the slow moving sign of Taurus.
This can cause frustration, restlessness, agitation; an insatiable buzzing that no amount of calming tea can fix. But what is shifting, what is breaking free, what is wanting to ignite and be seen is worth paying attention to. Our personal earthquakes are guiding us in the direction of our deepest growth. Keep your footing amidst the shifting ground, what awaits is much more solid.
August 4
Mercury enters Virgo
After a fiery stint in Leo, Mercury enters Virgo to help us ground our communications once again. Back in his home sign, here Mercury thrives on following the logical and analytical workings of life. Researching with a fine tooth comb is his jam. He is ready to help us sift through the mental chatter and information to get down to what is practical. Necessary.
He wants us to discern what communications are worth having - and come at them from a rational point of view (maybe sometimes too rational?). So focus your attention on the minutia of life, the mechanics that make your world run. "The devil is in the details" is one of his favourite mantras here, so keep your magnifying glass close.
August 7/8
Mars squares Saturn
Start. Stop. Start. Stop. Start...! Errrrg, stop. That can be the feeling of this time as Mars wants to us forge ahead and Saturn puts the breaks on - sometimes before Mars has moved an inch. It can feel like a car that can't shift into that next gear. Our will for action, our personal warrior meets our inner taskmaster, our inner critic, bringing in an internal (or external) tension point that isn't necessarily all rainbows and unicorns.
Both sides are fixed in their stance ("let me do it now" "wait, what do you think you're doing?), digging their heels in fiercely. There can feel a fire or agitation to this energy, a stubbornness meets a restlessness, so go mindfully. Shift back into first gear and compassionately listen to their conversation.
August 9
Venus opposite Pluto
Here what brings us pleasure - what makes us glow - gets prodded. Poked at. Gets examined from a deeply, sometimes uncomfortably, honest place. Venus momentarily traverses the underworld to feel what it's like below the surface where all the unmet desires, joys, creative projects and loves live.
Where the souls of what once was, or has never been, live. Where we've buried shame or pain. Where we've given away our power in relationships - and where we've used that power over others. But in this unearthing, in this voyage, we remember our strength, we glimpse our deepest potential having lived to tell the tales. The maiden enters these dark waters so she can emerge the Queen that she is.
August 11
Sun squares Uranus
Here our personal journey comes up against the urge to break free from it all. The rebel comes a-knocking wanting us to question, well, everything. We may want to suddenly break free of seemingly outdated versions of ourselves. We might question the path ahead of us, or - receive insights into how to make it so gloriously unique to us. Thrive off our of superbly individualistic ways of operating in this world and fully be seen in that. Take any agitation or restlessness of where you are (or are not) in your life and ground it into the visions of all that is possible.
August 11/12
Venus enters Leo
Put on your glittery gold sequin outfit and hit the streets! Or your couch. Venus enters Leo to let her hair down and embody what it's like to live from the heart - to connect with others through playful pursuits, to create for the sheer act of creating no matter what comes of it.
She wants romaaaaance! To follow passion. To flirt and flitter about and be seen as her glorious self. So this is the time to prioritize those creative pursuits that have been tugging at your heart strings; to value play and pleasurely pursuits as much as work; to take yourself on the most extravagant, luxurious date imaginable and let the world bask in your ridiculously beautiful self.

August 14/15
Sun opposite Saturn
Our sense of commitment to ourselves comes up against our duty to the collective. Our heart's desires meets what's expected of us. Here we may meet our own constraints; where we feel stuck, where we feel blocked in our personal journeys. Imprisoned by the inner critic that just. won’t. budge. Until… we use that block to get creative in how to manoeuvre around it. Until we become steadfast in not backing down in who we are. Saturn rewards patience and putting one foot in front of the other no matter the storm. So meet his test and come out the victor.
August 20
Mars enters Gemini
Let’s goooo! After a grounded voyage through Taurus, our personal warrior is ready to take to, well, everything! In Gemini, Mars wants us to go after all the pursuits. And then some. A boundless energy following every inclining, this is when our actions are directed towards the mental realm; connecting, communicating; learning and studying and teaching until you're blue in the face. We follow the breadcrumbs and go after where the trail is leading us - with a couple distractions and detours on the way ;)
With Mars going retrograde at the end of October, we have a long time to get to work with this energy - seven months worth! There will be much more to come on Mars Retrograde, but if you're familiar with your chart it would be worthwhile seeing what house Mars will be transiting through as this will be an area of much contemplation over the next seven months.
August 21
Mercury opposite Neptune
Drifting, dreamy, confusing conversations and thoughts may blanket today. Daydreams and inner voyages out to sea reign supreme. Mercury wants to take our thoughts in more directions than we can count - or cloak our minds in mental fog. It’s a “slow down and maybe don’t have that super intense conversation with your lawyer” type of day. Follow the shimmering daydreams instead.
August 22/23
Sun enters Virgo
The sun enters the earthy, practical realm of Virgo for its yearly voyage in putting us to work. Not in a gruelling way (okkk, maybe sometimes) but in the sense of putting us to work on ourselves. To get the details and mechanics of life running smoothly, so that we run smoothly - operating seamlessly like a well oiled machine. Reminding ourselves of the importance of tending to our mind-body-spirit connection and how we thrive when we priortize it. How that then effects everything, and everyone, around us. So make those lists, simmer in the satisfaction of crossing off each item. Embrace how gooood it can feel to tend to the practicalities of life.
August 25/26
Mercury enters Libra
Mercury enters the airy realm of Libra to priortize the value of our communications. He wants to stay up till dawn conversing deeply with another; to solve the climate crisis and fight the good fight - maybe even with a dash of playfulness and flirtation ;) Here Mercury wants to bring harmony and ease to the areas that have felt irksome. Bring a softness to the hard conversations. He wants to return beauty and harmony to the world through our communications, through writings and connection. He reminds us of how powerful and soothing a beautiful sentiment can be.

Venus squares Uranus
Back to stir things up, Uranus meets Venus to bring a momentary "where did that come from?!" energy. A tension point, a restlessness that may disrupt our passionate pursuits. A breakthrough or breakdown. A shakeup of what has become too fixed or stagnant - blocking the rivers of pleasure from seeping through our systems fully. Relationships want to be revitalized. Creativity reimagined. Values questioned. It may feel confronting at first, but all that is shaken inevitably lands in its rightful place.

Venus opposite Saturn
After the potential shakeup of yesterday, there may feel a bit of a weightiness that feels restricting to our hearts. A critical eye honed in on ourselves, our relationships. A view through grey-coloured glasses and questioning what actually does bring us joy? How do we feel more of it? Why can’t we feel more of it? But by facing those questions we look into what new foundations need to be in place to support our deepest pleasure, our deepest pursuits for love and joy. To choose our heart's passions - and how to constructively build them into sustainable parts of our lives.
